Volkswagen Polo 50 years

 

The first-generation was identical to the Audi 50 except it was cheaper and simpler, also available in a variety of four-cylinder petrol engines connected to a four-speed manual gearbox, the most powerful engine made 60 bhp. Additionally, a three-door hatch and two-door saloon option was offered while a facelift was introduced in 1979 with added plastic bumpers and a revised dash. Its global production figure reached 800,000. It had three core traits efficiency, practicality and affordability which has defined the Polo ever since.  All six generations offer a fair price - performance ratio.
